On Travel Writing, #1

002. I suppose a “writer” has an idea to portray, an unspoken obligation to communicate experience with readers, and a series of neuronal chatter to translate into the language(s) of their choosing. But who am I kidding. I don’t have the patience to create well formed narrative for the sake of assuaging the literary inclinations of either the proletariat or the bourgeoisie. I like creating quick shots of verbal potency, drinking them down thought by thought and effortlessly ascending into a state of semantic intoxication. Quick shots that send me into a dizzying visions of meaning woven with metaphorical intrigue. If this conveys a deeper meaning, great. If this aptly describes a cultural practice, great. The process though, it is inevitably more interesting and life affirming.
