My First Dream About A Blogger

I usually have vivid dreams after eating fish – specifically Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s frozen tuna steaks. Please, can I get a brilliant neuroscientist to explain this? However, a few nights ago, without the assistance of frozen tuna steaks, I had a very vivid dream. It really wouldn’t be out of the ordinary except for one minor detail.

It was about a blogger!

After the dream, as I woke in the morning, the first thing I (consciously) thought was, “Did I just dream about a [F]ucking blogger? Yes, I did. What the [F]uck!”

Sitting in my queen size bed, I began thinking of possible explanations for this dream as I replayed certain confounding chunks.

… I’m dressed in some kind of formal clothing – without shoes. I’m walking up a hill. There is a large castle-like structure in the background. She’s wearing a dark green, formal dress. Beaming smile. She’s saying things. I grab her hand and we’re moving. Of course we’re not really moving, everything else around us is moving so it feels like we’re moving. She suddenly slips and slides down the hill on her ass. Now my dress is ruined, she says. I softly laugh. Nobody can tell, the grass stain perfectly matches the dress, I say. It is ruined, she gloomily states. Suddenly I realize how to fix the problem, so I take a few steps across an ocean, step into my sports car, and drive back over to the hill to pick her up. Soon we’re driving off to an important event, though I’m not driving anymore, it just feels like I’m driving….

The woman is a blogger I’ve been reading for about a year. I think it is amazing she managed to sneak out from the recesses of my mind. This amazes me for two reasons. One, I’ve never actually meet this woman, yet somehow my mind has managed to piece together a complex representation of her character from mere blog posts. Two, the ability of words flickering across a screen, things that aren’t exactly tangible, to literally affect my state of neurochemical bliss. The mind is AMAZING!

As if blogging weren’t, in some sense, socially damning, I’m now blogging about a dream I had about a blogger. Go figure. Points to any of you who guess the blogger in question. Her link is … checking… on my links page. And I’ll let you know if you’re correct.

The Answer…

Have you ever dreamed about another blogger? Links Please! I want to post ‘em here.

I dream about a blogger, but I know them in real life, so that's cheating.

Absolutely. That is definitely cheating… lucky for you.

I've never dreamed about a blogger.

    Still just nightmares about Oprah.

    … Please, please… let's refrain from dropping the O-bomb. She's already everywhere!

I have not dreamed about a blogger, yet… It may be because I am still too new at this.

I must point to the unfairness though, you keep us wondering who is the blogger of your dreams, yet you ask for ours…

Good Point! I suppose I should divulge the link.

Is anyone else picturing the green dress from Atonement?

Also, I've dreamed about bloggers, but only the ones I've met. Arjewtino stole my shoes once, and Hey Pretty and I drink many imaginary (and real!) beers together.

I am now… what the hell I was going to say!

    whomever she is..im sure she'll be flattered…
    xoxo

That's true, there are loads of cool chick bloggers out there.

I haven't, but now that you bring it up, watch it happen soon!

Here's to dreaming about hot bloggers!

Hmmm I had an idea of who it was, but you know them. Hmmmm — this puzzles me.

I dream about bloggers all the time, as well as Trent Reznor and other silly shit.

But have you meet these blogger peps?

that scene in the green dress in the library…

i'm sorry, what was i gonna say?

    Exactly.

  9. Twinkie 24. Apr, 2009 at 9:28 am #

I think it's a sign that you and said blogger should meet. *wink*

Somehow I don't think that will happen. It'd be cool though.

Totally not this chick-blogger, I don't wear dresses. Plus, in the event I feel down a hill, I'd be really pissed and throwing crap. I wouldn't have been graceful.

Lucky little blogger chick! You should tell us who it is. Seriously. Don't mess around, this is serious.

    Done.

Woah. Trippy. I would guess it’s me, but I don’t wear green. Actually, that’s a lie; I wore a green coat today.

I’ve had dreams where I read blogs (yes, I can read in my dreams). I actually dreamt about Facebook a few nights ago…

I think these are signs we need to get out more.

    Agreed!

  12. Shannon 24. Apr, 2009 at 12:28 pm #

Also, it can’t be me, as I would never get gloomy over a dress. I’d probably laugh my ass off instead.

Which is the right response, of course. Unless I have to pay for cleaning the dress.

oh shucks i am wearing a black dress today, so it’s not me either.
but that does sound exactly like the kind of pieced-together dream i would have. except mine would end with some sort of flying or sex scene.
sorry, shannon mentioned the green dress from atonement and that got me thinking about the scene in the green dress in the library…
i have never dreamt of a blogger, not that i can remember at least

Ha. I originally read that as some sort of “flying sex scene”… cool thought, huh… yeah, I try to keep this blog PG-twenty-something-ish

I think Whole Foods drugs its fish. How else can you explain the addictive properties of their poke salad?!

If you ever dream of me; please make sure I’m not in a formal dress. If I am, I’d like for it to be red. Oh, also, I don’t like falling downhill. Although, falling uphill would be pretty trippy. So if I fall, please dream of the latter scenario. Thanks in advance.

I'll take your requests into consideration, however, I reserve the right to modify them as I see fit!

  15. Jossie Posie 24. Apr, 2009 at 11:02 pm #

It was totally me, I am sure of it. Not really but I have no other guesses.

And yes, I dream of bloggers all the time but only ones whose faces I’ve seen and had more than a passing interaction with.

Yeah, it freaked me out. I only dream about people I’ve actually had human contact with… as in like, you know, the ability to poke them or steal their booze and food

  16. Endless Randomness 26. Apr, 2009 at 2:37 pm #

Damn its not me?! Although ‘green’ isn’t my preferred colour for an evening dress. I’d almost always play it safe and go for black :)

Yes, a woman can never go wrong with a sexy black evening dress!

We all want to know, you know!

Damn me and my inquisitive nature.

I totally have had dreams about bloggers, mostly if something they blogged about sticks in my mind. I even have minor crushes on a few, but don’t we all? *stared dreamily into space*

    Anyway. What I also find weird is that sometimes I’d think about bloggers when I’m not even in front of my laptop. Example;

“She’d totally laugh about this” or “He’d LOVE this!”

And that is far stranger my friend. ;)

Ehh… strange… naw. You just take imagination to the next level of conscious reinterpretation. It is a skill to hone… and blog about. :)
