Tourist Trapping Near The Great Smoky Mountains

053.  Gatlingburg & Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (USA)

I know I’m entering the South – the bible belt – because there are crosses everywhere.  Crosses dot the hillsides, billboards spread the message.  And look, there’s a large confederate flag perched on a hill.

Could I ever live in the South, the non-urban South? Places like Rainbow City (AL) or Strawberry Fields (TN)?  No.  But I don’t mind visiting the South, especially places like Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

There are so many tourist traps.  At least ten pancake houses and mini-golf courses, theatres of all sorts, a variety of museums, including the Museum Of Salt & Pepper Shakers and the Titanic Museum (Attraction).  A Mellow Mushroom every few miles.  And don’t forget the dentist disapproved sweets shops.

Remember, if you’re looking for a trap, don’t forget this simple code: US-441.

Tired of humanity trying to rearrange your finances? Did I mention the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is close too?
